Caring starts with noticing
Even small steps toward caring can make a real difference in someone’s life. Each of us can use our knowledge and actions to create a safer and more supportive environment.
Lecturer: Mari Salla
Mari Salla has extensive experience in violence prevention, offering counseling and therapy services, developing programs, and providing training. She has specialized in family therapy and coaching and is a former head of the psychosocial support unit for victims at the Social Insurance Board.
This training provides an overview of domestic violence, this includes its nature, prevalence, and impact in Estonia, and how it can affect our daily (work) lives, either directly or indirectly.
The session will cover different forms of domestic violence, the warning signs to watch for, and the effects on victims. Since employees spend a significant part of their waking hours at work or at home, colleagues are often the first to notice changes in behavior.
It’s important to understand that bystanders, whether colleagues or managers, are not expected to resolve cases themselves. In Estonia, trained specialists and support services are available, and these will also be introduced during the training.
Note: This session will not be recorded.

NB! The lectures are in Estonian.
Domestic violence affects more people than we might think. This is also true in our own community and workplace. That’s why we are organizing a training in the autumn, where you can expand your knowledge about domestic violence.
